  • A grand looking bar with an extensive outside seating area

  • Albeit with interesting decor on the ceiling which is the most intriguing part of the bar

  • As the rest is generally just darkly varnished wood

  • So the standard is generally poor

  • The food itself is standard for the most part

  • With Venison and other dishes offered which are a cut above standard offered on the Specials Board make the bar a lot higher in most people's estimations

  • The lines are kept well in order and the taste of the beer is very crisp and clear

  • It was a big portion with a lot of chicken but I was surprised to find bacon in it

  • I guess one can't go wrong with bacon in the UK

  • It was a chilly morning and there was an indoor seating area right in the sun so we decided to sit there and warm up a bit

  • The locarion was really nice and clean

  • The coffee was really good too

  • As we couldnt make it on a Monday night we attended on a Saturday night which is no doubt when Ryans Bar are at their busiest

  • Their staff are very friendly

  • Great value as the portions were huge and the whisky's were either Ardbeg or Glenmorangie

  • We also had 2 of the 3 Burns Cocktails that were on offer we had the Tablet White Russian and the Ginger and Rhubard Martini

  • Both were lovely but the white russian was my favourite only because I do have a sweet tooth

  • The servers were friendly and helpful

  • The bar also has a separate seating area which is right beside the windows making it ideal for dining as well

  • I tried their Legend Burger with Guiness beer

  • The ambience is quite loud inside and outside is calmer

  • Great place to hang out with friends when you are visiting Edinburgh

  • I had the chilli which was so delicious

  • My partner had the gammon which was by far the nicest gammon steak we both had ever tasted
