It seems that the restaurant was going for a soft launch
-
Obviously this discount was being offered to give the place a chance to iron out any kinks in delivery of food and service so this review is writing with that in mind
-
The cleverly designed use of space makes it feel larger than it was and the lighting and furnishings are so warm
-
A perfectly cooked rib steak with truffle chips(sublime
-
All washed down with a lovely Carmenere
-
It was the best meal I'd had out in ages and I can't wait to return
-
Great interiors too as the building is really interesting
-
The Printing Press ethos is about celebrating great food and drink using only the finest Seasonal Ingredients
-
By showcasing his talent with Des McDonalds experience The Printing Press Bar and Kitchen should be on to a winner
-
With the team hard at work refining menus and working with fantastic Scottish suppliers such as Buccleuch Beef
-
Colin is working with one of Londonâ
-
The Printing Press is a lovely upscale dining venue on George Street
-
The service was excellent when I visited from the hostess to the servers every member of staff I encountered was friendly and accommodating
-
The scallops were some of the best scallops I've ever had
-
I was impressed with the service
-
I was gutted to have missed the Printing Press launch event a couple months ago so was really pleased to finally check it out
-
I ordered a cocktail the last word which was good but quite potent
-
I was surprised by how flavoursome the mine and tattoos were absolutely divine and not what you'd expect with a bog standard version of mince/tatties
-
I had the pressed ham hock to start which was lovely altho I found a little bit of hard grizzle in it
-
The mince was lovely but the potatoes were a tad hard
-
The dessert of chocolate and salted caramel pot was tasty at first but very sickly
-
The consensus seemed to be that it was very stylish
-
Heard that this was one of the better places in Edinburgh to visit if you wanted a good cocktail
-
On approach it looks very posh (well it is in George Street) and inside the decor is rather grand if a little open and cold
-
No doubt this works well on weekends with large groups
-
Good sized bowls and rather tasty with the cocktails
-
I was pleasantly surprised with the cocktails
-
They are a decent size with a good whack of alcohol
-
We started of with two Brambles and then slowly worked our way through the menu
-
Lemon juice and Creme du Mure served over crushed ice with a slice of lemon and a hint of blackberries
-
A great fine dining experience though the portions were a little small but we enjoyed it to the very last spoon
