Panda & Sons (New Town)

• The bird cage is very impressive (your glass arrives under a dome filled with clove smoke) but not exactly to my taste
• All the cocktails I tried were too complex I guess
• The cocktail menu is a novella of drink descriptions
• My Shanghai Paloma came in a plastic lemon with a big bendy straw clever presentation in theory
• In practice the strong smell of the plastic took away from my enjoyment of the drink (which was otherwise very good)
• I like that there are various rooms off the main central room
• The cocktail menu is extensive and fun
• The bartenders are all experts and can make you anything off menu that you want as well
• Full much to our annoyance because it was bloody freezing
• Get money out in the hope that by the time we got back the bouncer on the door would tell us there was space for us which is exactly what happened
• To keep in with the whole prohibition and speakeasy style of the bar
• I was half expecting Leo to be sitting at the bar with a drink for me or maybe that was a dream
• I thought this was the coolest thing ever
• The night we went was quite busy
• We didn't have to wait long at the bar and service was really good
• When we first got there we were both took a while to decide exactly what we wanted
• I didn't think it was too bad most of the cocktails were around the £
• Had us wondering whether or not it was a prerequisite for working there haha)
• Sometimes is a bit of a pain when you are out and you feel you have to shout at the person you are with
• I just really liked that it was so different from any other bar I've ever been to especially in Edinburgh
• Sons didn't really have the feel of a bar to go to if you are having a big night out
• Here they come with smoke filled domes over them and all sorts of bits and pieces
• Fun and quirky with great drinks
• One of the best cocktail bar in town
• It's themed like an old barbers which is really original and the atmosphere was great when I was there
• The best part is that the cocktails are so creative
• My favourite was the Monet one which is served with an artists pallette and 3 tubes of flavourings to add to your prosecco
• I saw that someone next to me ordered a cocktail that was covered with a bell far filled with smoke
• Sons once which is baffling as it's the sort of place I should be visiting more
• You would not think it was a cocktail bar from the outside at all
• I wish I could actually recall which cocktail I consumed that night but trust me it was really tasty and it really is a place that I need to go back to soon
• The table service is marvellous with water and popcorn
• I had a Camden beer which I like and I am told that the cocktails are good as well
• Always nice to have a wee snack with your drink
• Panda and Sons is one of my favourite bars in Edinburgh
• My favourite is the birdcage cocktail for its showmanship and smoky taste
• I also like their mojitos (last time I had them they were served in tin cans
• Their nibbles are interesting too although I've not had anything heavy here
• No service added on either which is surprising given they do wait on the tables and give good service
• No wait maybe it is a book store
• Just when you push a book shelf is when you realise you are in a pub
• The music's good the drinks are great and free popcorn to top it a bit
• All the recipes sound amazing and those we have tested were really stunning
• Panda and sons was the first place me and my friend wanted to meet in Edinburgh on our tourist trip
• Awesome place to drink and chitchat with ur friends
