Nanyang (Old Town)

• This vibrant restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday evening
• Particularly as it is squirrelled away in the labyrinth of the Quartermile complex
• The satay itself was crunchy in texture and you could easily see bits of peanut in it
• The curry puffs were being enjoyed but they weren&rsquo
• The portion of rice was really big enough for two with moderate appetites
• S a bit of a shame the noodles were decorative and seemed a bit of a waste
• The chicken was good but the rice was clearly the star of the dish
• I think Nanyang (Old Town) is punching above its weight and is worth a look in
• It's at quartermile which is an upcoming location for restaurant
• Chick and modern with obviously Malaysian motives
• It was a really good change for my previously known place as that one is really tacky and flashy but their food and service is top notch
• We have had some drinks first and order was taken as normal
• Can't really judge the service be honest as it was a quite a big table and that's different than a table for 2 however it still should be good
• There was a few misunderstandings with some very cute but very young waiters but we didn't mind at all
• It's prawns with noodles and veg kind of thing
• This time it was cold and I had 2 prawns in it
• It was not just me but a few others were not overall impressed
• That shouldn't be a problem or if it is get pre orders beforehand
• This restaurant is meant to tingle at my roots (I'm Malaysian)
• I wouldn't say the food is bad by any stretch
• It's tasty if you consider the dish in isolation outside the cuisine it is meant to represent
• Because it's rare you get Asian restaurants that do take time in making sure their deco and staff are of standard
• I've been to this restaurant few weeks back and should say this restaurant serves one of the best Malay foods in town
• Salt and chilli soft shell crab were bit salty for my taste buds otherwise everything was fine
• The other dishes were roti canai
• Please book before you visit coz it was our good luck that we got a table
• The overall taste of their foods were quite good
• The experience was a pleasure
• Definitely make sure you sample those two dishes they were incredible
• Stick to the unique food as it is worth it and you won't have a preconception of how it's supposed to taste
• The service is good and the decor is peaceful
• The serving portion is quite big for an Asian
