La Garrigue (Old Town)

• Banning words is a bad business
• Accompanying it were three items
• D got to play with the starter
• So chef was having his little playful fun with the main course
• I rounded things out with good espresso
• I can assure you that we were very pleased with the options given to us
• Had the lamb stew which I thought was rather tasty and beautifully seasoned
• My chicken was also really splendidly done
• Both of which were very tasty
• I was impressed by the food and it was very reminiscent of my own style of cooking
• Was less impressed and he felt it was a little bit of a let down given the hype
• They were kind enough to fit us in to a full lunch schedule and when another table became free they informed us we were free to stay as long as we liked
• Service during the meal was cold and one waiter in particular (I think I remembered him from Ramsays's show) was so brusque it bordered on rude
• It's not really acceptable to say that this is the French way of doing things
• You never know whether someone is having a particularly bad day
• It's a lovely location with a buzzing atmosphere
• Means definitely book in advance as we were very lucky to be squeezed in
• Due to the gorgeous day views and our conclusion that though the food was good it wasn't remarkable
• The service is knowledgeable and warmly proficient &ndash
• Enjoyed items that are not often on a menu Pigeon and Rabbit
• Food was great and matched with delicious wines
• Service staff were very helpful which made our evening just perfect
• I had the chicken with peppers and mash
• Pavlova with ice cream and fruit was the popular choice for dessert
• My friend is allergic to shell fish and the staff knew exactly what was in their dishes
