  • The lamb khutta was presented wonderfully and the taste was delicious

  • We had two hostesses who were new and did not know the menu well enough to help us with a recommendation

  • The waiter mixed up the spicy levels on our meals (mine was too sedate for my tastes)

  • The excellence of the taste is worth the effort

  • A new year usually means setting yourself goals and The Food Club is no exception

  • A selection of beverage was ordered including

  • S and spiced onions served with a variety of sauces

  • The onions were a wee bit spicy and caused the sweats immediately

  • The sauces certainly helped cool the pallet the down although the onions were too good not to have again

  • Service was slow but it was a busy Friday night so that can be forgiven

  • All the starters were well spiced and devoured pretty quick

  • Mo does take some time which is stated but these steamed dumplings were filled with delight

  • Main courses and again the service was slow but due to size of the meal a longer break was maybe a blessing in disguise

  • The mains were very filling but this is to be expected for the cuisine and no complaints were coming from our end

  • Thankfully due to me carrying an extending fork I was able to stealthily steal a bite from each plate

  • Everyone was happy with their choices

  • There were a few mix ups with orders but this was resolved with minimal disruption

  • We were a bit spoiled for choice with their abundance of Rice and Naan options

  • The staff served up 2 of each which was greatly appreciated and allowed to sink our teeth into something different

  • Nothing beats tearing it with your hands and scooping up the remains on the plate&hellip

  • We were advised there were not enough Brownies for what we ordered so we decided to end the meal

  • Due to the other starters being prepared we were served with the remainder

  • The Brownie that we did was shared out and got thumbs up

  • Special praise is reserved for the Gajar Ko Halwa

  • It was almost 3 in the noon and our stomachs were rumbling then we found Gurkha Cafe & Restaurant (Old Town) open(almost closing time)

  • We ordered chicken tikka and piro khukra (chicken)for starters and the piro khukra was so different n yes it was delicious

  • For main course as we were very hungry we just ordered biryani

  • The chicken biryani was good but the lamb biryani was excellent for me

  • So overall it is a good place to have a stomach filling food and quite tasty too

  • Been to Gurkha Cafe & Restaurant (Old Town) twice with colleagues and on both occasions

  • The service are all spot on

  • We started with a mix of veg and non veg starters aloo tareko

  • Momos are served with their special in house garlic dip which tasted awesome and we ended up asking for 4 5 servings of just the dip itself

  • Methi parantha is a must try here

  • The service was pretty good and all the dishes tasted great

  • We left very happy and thoroughly satisfied with our experience both the times

  • We felt that the waiters were not helpful with the amount of food that needed to be ordered

  • We ended up with food for 12 people

  • Then the owner/manager comes and says that there is a 20 minutes waiting even though they had many empty tables right in front of our eyes

  • The owner/manager was very rude even while taking the order

  • It was our first dinner in UK and we wanted to have some Indian food and it was a Very Bad Experience

  • Great food with nice hot spices

  • The dimsumms was really good

  • Small place but was full on a Sunday evening

  • Gurkha Cafe & Restaurant (Old Town) is situated in the heart of the city

  • The ambiance was just perfect

  • Even the poppadums were by far the nicest I&rsquo

  • M normally a Balti/Bhuna/Rogan kind of guy but opted for their Nepalese Lamb Khutta dish which was delicious the lamb just fell off the bone and was perfectly cooked and the sauce was fantastic
