Civerinos (Old Town)

• The sourdough pizza bases are incredible
• Indications that Civerinos (Old Town) was cool were stuck to drink fridges in the form of extreme sport brand stickers and hung on the wall as an old racing bike
• Somewhere between the faux marble bust with sunglasses and posters of a star censored statue of David
• Visited Civerinos with family and was totally amazed at the Pizzas
• They were thin base with plenty topping
• Have to say they were very child friendly and the service was amazing
• Nice to know there are still places out there that are so relaxed and serve fresh
• The thing about Italian places in Edinburgh is that they start off with good intentions
• Parsley calamari and arancini (yes I was hungry) made the proper way
• Four cheese pizza is a classic in Italy and these guys used the right amount of cheese to balance the taste
• The calamari were seasoned with parsley
• Accompanied with a homemade aioli served in a shot glass

• Such great value for money because the pizzas are huge and you can tell they are made fresh
• The fries came with a delicious home made tomato sauce as well
• S situated on Hunter Square in Edinburgh is an Italian street food and pizza slice bar
• When looking at the menu I was not sure what made it street food
• Looking around however it was a very chilled atmosphere and setting
• I did feel they could have done with cranking the heating up as it was pretty cold in the restaurant

• The beautiful glass door way opens into a minimalist style canteen with long tables and an open kitchen where the smell of food drifts tantalizingly from
• The owner Michele is often sat at the bar and came to talk to us about his plans for the restaurant and the upcoming Festival season
• His enthusiasm and passion for Italian food and the business is inspiring and infectious
• Especially after a recent trip with the kitchen team to source new products and try out new ideas resulting in some fabulous new gorgonzola croquettes
• Steak tagliata with wild rocket salad and Zuccini fritti
• The food is served on sharing style boards with individual paper plates
• We were very impressed with all our dishes
• Light crispy battered zucchini was really tasty
• Well cooked steak with roast tomatoes and rocket was the stuff of dreams believe me
• Of course crispy calamari with aioli was just about perfect
• The rich tasty porcini sauce with the meatballs was a stand out winner at our table
• The wine and beers are all really well priced and they have a frozen cocktail too
• Desserts are also pretty awesome we were recommended to try the Tiramisu but didn&rsquo
• Civerinos is one establishment in the touristy Royal Mile area that is adored by visitors and locals alike
• Word of their fine Italian fare is spreading fast
• Came here for late night eats with friends who were visiting Edinburgh
• Calamari and it's accompanying dip were delicious and garlicky
• Went here when they are giving out free pizzas and then 2 days later for a celebration dinner as I couldn't get enough
• The pizzas were unbelievably good
• The polenta chips are a must as well
• T booked but as it was 8pm that we were aiming to dine

• Civerinos has a good rep on social media and lots of great pics of their food on Instagram etc so this was out choice
• This pizza place is sited in Hunters Square
• Lovely outdoor eating area and its communal eating inside with long large tables and pews

• Probably the best pizza in Edinburgh delicious sourdough crust with plenty of options on the menu
