What people say about Tea Rooms (Swansea)
-
Whilst staying in Wales with a couple of people for a long weekend
-
One of them had read up about a Viking Festival at the Gower Heritage Centre and the way he went about it it seemed akin to a Medieval fair with actual combat
-
In the end it was more aimed at kids
-
We had entered already and thought to look at the Heritage Centre further but first it was only a few pounds more to get a breakfast included
-
The food here is actually very good and a far cry from the fare that is often associated with theme parks
-
The dining area is given more care than expected
-
Then you pay in advance and take a seat (there are usually numbers
-
On this day it was not very busy so the staff remembered people by face)
-
The choices for breakfast with the ticket were a cream tea (consisting of scone
-
Two cream teas and one Morning Mill Breakfast with laverbread and cockles were ordered
-
The cream teas were readily available to be gotten from the fridge
-
I got the cream tea with a cappucino and had a banana thickshake on the side
-
The scone was soft and fluffy with good quality clotted cream (in such a generous quantity) and jam (from a small glass jar as opposed to the little plastic tubs) to compliment it
-
Bara brith had a sharper taste and was good with a little bit of butter
-
The Welsh cakes were good on their own and were similar to the scones
-
A bit harder and flatter traditionally they are eaten unaccompanied
-
The cappuccino used a very good mix and was served hot with a good amount of foam on top
-
The texture was creamy and smooth with the flavour seeming closer to actual banana than banana flavoured syrup
-
The hashbrowns were perfect and crispy
-
They used a good quality sausage that did not taste purely of fat and grease and I was won over by the laverbread and cockles which had a distinct
-
Fishy taste (one of the staff there mentioned it is a love it or hate it kind of food I ended up in the former)
-
At first there was contemplation about going back a bit latter after looking around the place for another meal
-
The food there sounded that good but it was all so filling
-
The Gower Heritage Centre was a brilliant place
-
A good look into history with a good amount of fun for the children
-
When going here the Tea Room is not to be missed
-
It actually seems focused on having Welsh cuisine (probably more relevant to tourists than residents) and it is good quality
