• Restaurant James Sommerin is the spanking new
• S new gaff in the newly built Beachcliff development on Penarth Esplanade is open for business
• S so new that some of the building is still covered in scaffolding
• Whilst the dining room is smack bang opposite an impressive vista of the Severn Estuary
• The best view to be had is into the kitchen through a window in the back of the dining room
• The sea view is partially blocked by high backed leather banquettes that run along the windows &ndash
• I dined at the restaurant lunch time today and I have to say it was the best food I have been served in many years
• The value for money was superb and the balances and flavour combinations were second to none
• The front of house staff were exceptional and ever so attentive
• Their passion was evident from the outset and I was made to feel like I was the only person in the dining room despite it being nearly full
• S table and the food was even more impressive
• A table of 17 was served with ease and the most swearing all afternoon came from Mrs G
• Made just behind a big glass window with love and meticulous attention to detail
• While I think it was perhaps a bit pricy for what we got
