  • The cocktails are usually interesting

  • If I had a tiny criticism I would recommend that they stay away from the Italian and oriental side of cooking and stick with reinvigorating good Scottish staples using local game and seafood

  • Their tablet is not as good as my Mum's

  • My children make a point of getting up early so they can have breakfast at Scott's rounded off with a milkshake

  • The thought of a proper bit of black pudding and some tattie scones alongside good Ayrshire bacon is more than enough incentive for me to accompany them on the journey

  • The only downside is I usually come back from Troon a couple of kilos heavier and that's mostly the fault of Scott's
