  • Through Twitter Stosi knew I was coming and of this blog so she very kindly offered to provide all 9 courses for us to try

  • Including some which were never intended to be eaten as part of the tasting menu

  • I mean crunchy bits and pieces including the best potato skins ever

  • M quite partial to is tinned corned beef

  • Or at least I was until I tried this next dish

  • Served warm in a jar the beef had all the same flavours but the texture was out of this world

  • With the fantastic fresh molasses bread and excellent piccalilli this was another outstanding dish

  • Dipping it in the silky wild garlic mayo turned it into the best garlic bread ever

  • We were shown a very warm welcome by our host AJ as we escaped the bitter cold and were soon sipping on a latte to warm up

  • The focus of the menu were the appetising game dishes and after ordering we were soon presented with some Tweet treats

  • Tweet about the treats and were excited to receive them

  • Starters I chose the pepper venison loin salad with damsons and damson jelly

  • It was probably not the best choice for me as I had a cough at the time which was aggravated by the pepper

  • The meaty venison was enjoyable and it gave me the opportunity to eat most of Mr Noms starter ins

  • There are no faddy menus bursting with the latest food trends

  • This was also served with an acidic salad containing pickled celeriac &ndash

  • Course because Stosie is a great cook but also because it comes from a local estate (on one of my first visits AJ pointed out of the window to the field it came from)

  • Though it still tasted great and was juicy enough

  • The creamed mash was unbelievably good and I loved the simple garnish of sauté
