Hickory's Smokehouse (Chester)

• Hickory' Smokehouse is authentic American BBQ restaurant by the river in the historic city of Chester
• Sitting outside with a river view is amazing
• The platters are great if you like a good mix
• Beware that the portions are pretty sizeable
• We were served promptly and grabbed a seat at the bar and we were brought complimentary sales popcorn which was a nice touch
• There was complimentary water and another bag of popcorn for our group which again is a nice touch
• The menu is plenty full with the usual staples of brisket
• 35 (which I thought was cheap)and some fried pickles and some suicide buffalo wings to start and chilli cheese fries
• I patiently awaited the meal the waiter was pleasant and made sure we were settled and topped up with drinks
• The slaw was generic and the chilli cheese fries were average at best not real chilli cheese fries (plastic cheese no chilli but chillis and fries very strange)
• If in London or surrounding Bodeans is a much better alternative
