Zeret Kitchen (Camberwell)

• Portion sizes are small for their pricing
• The doro wot is the best bet with injera
• The platter with 7 sides and injera is good for 2
• Note the injera served here is made from rice and nice not the original teff version
• We have been at Zeret kitchen for a business dinner with our project group of 20 people
• The highlight was the cappuccino we ordered at the end
• This was the first time I and my wife tried Ethiopian food and it was a delightful experience
• The place was beautifully decorated where you traditionally eat with your hands
• We ordered chicken which was perfectly cooked with mixes delicious ingredients
• I visited Zeret for the first time with colleagues few month back
• I've been to a few Ethiopian restaurants in London in my time and was curious to see how Zeret would compete
• I can speak Amharic so the owner was delighted when we walked in and I greeted her in her native tongue
• These went down a treat with my colleagues
• A traditional sour bread pancake with a spongy texture
• I've experienced restaurants where the injera is almost inedible usually from Eritrean joints but this was perfect
• The service was excellent and you couldn't get better Ethiopian food unless you trekked to East Africa itself
• All my colleagues loved the food and were surprised at how great value it was
• This was my first time experience with Ethopian food and I must say I wasn't disappointed
• The food portions are small but you can always order extra injera for free
• Our dinner last night was the best Ethiopian meal I've ever had
• We got the surprise combination platter for two and it was more than enough food for two very hungry people
• Everything was reasonably priced
• We arrived just before 7 and the place was already very busy
• I would say the food was slightly hotter than other Ethiopian's I've had (despite the waitress's advice that our choices were mild/medium) but this suited me well
• More enjera was brought out to us when the waitress noted ours was running low they are very attentive despite being very busy
• You might find you have to wait to be seated as the staff are so keen to seat everybody that comes in
• It was also a little chilly (although it was an unusually cold evening) so bring a jumper if you feel the cold
