  • Taste Italiano (Hackney) has just opened and I was a bit dubious as it's an Italian restaurant owned by a Bengali

  • Met the owner and he told me that his chef who is Indian worked in Italy for 25 years

  • Ordered 6 typical Italian dishes to gauge their 'chefs' expertise and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food

  • The Milanese Chicken (number 55) was especially nice

  • It came with a spagbol that was really moreish and the prawns (number 12) were of a good size but could have been more spicy

  • My only criticism was that when it was all laid out on the table
