  • Otherwise I wouldn't get much out of the very excellent Kerb streetfood events occasionally it is nice to be pampered

  • Napkins that are magically folded the moment you step up from your table

  • A lighting scheme that makes everyone and everything glow with celestial light

  • An artfully designed space on the Brompton Road that is very impressive until you try to eat anything

  • Great food and a bill that doesn't threaten to reacquaint you with your meal as soon as you set eyes on it

  • A basement restaurant just off Sloane Square which is so utterly charming in almost every respect that it's like being hugged by a giant

  • In that respect Tartufo are doing everything right

  • Yet astonishingly Tartufo is barely a few weeks old

  • As unfortunately a mini cheese and tomato amuse was disconcertingly icy fridge fresh

  • Pasta dishes were even better

  • Were dressed in one of those heavenly veal stock reductions that make me want to glance furtively around the room before mopping it up with my fingers

  • Pink inside with a good crust

  • It was also topped with a spun sugar "

  • Another new restaurant has opened in Chelsea this year with barely no whisper of its arrival

  • Bar and restaurant are all very typical of Chelsea

  • A quick drink in the gorgeous wooden paneled bar where some of the finest cocktails I have had are mixed up you'll soon fall in love with the location

  • Mirrors and a sleek table setting this is fine dining in case you haven't noticed

  • A restaurant of this calibre in the area the menu is very competitively priced

  • A plate of creamy goats cheese and tomato gazpacho encased in a pastry tart was first to be scrutinized

  • The filling was far too cold and a little safe in terms of skill in the kitchen

  • The starter of heritage tomato salad with mozzarella granite and basil was not at all what we were expecting

  • Cooked to perfection were as soft as butter and expertly cooked

  • Accompanying the scallops was a crunchy fennel

  • Radish and orange salad then finished with some toasted pine nuts and coral juice

  • Cooking pasta is definitely Tartufo's strongest point

  • I had a light tortellini with summer truffle

  • Fresh walnut and mascarpone it was rather amazing

  • Nutty and full of flavour while the sauce was pure indulgence

  • Dining areas are located in the basement)

  • Chef Manuel Oliveri trained at the legendary Gualtiero Marchesi's Ristorante di Erbusco in Milan (Mr Marchesi was the first Italian chef to gain three Michelin stars)

  • He moved to London in 2010 and worked with Alexis Gauthier

  • The dining room is split into three sections

  • The dining room was quite cosy

  • Noise levels were modest and the tables reasonably well spaced

  • Most wines were under £

  • A savoury pastry that is the national dish of Monaco

  • It is stuffed with Swiss chard

  • I presume the connection is that the chef here trained with Alexis Gauthier

  • Who himself was a chef at Louis XV for a time

  • Should have crisp light pastry with a piping hot centre

  • By far the best bread was the only one made on the kitchen

  • This bread itself was 15/20 level

  • Ravioli of crustaceans was rather disappointing

  • Though the assorted shellfish were correctly cooked (13/20)

  • Much better was tortelli with mascarpone and summer truffles

  • Walnuts with the pasta were fresh and avoided any sogginess

  • On the side were little chips made from chickpeas

  • The green vegetables were nicely cooked and the jus had plenty of flavour (14/20)

  • Ice creams were a mixed bag

  • A vanilla ice cream was lacking in vanilla flavour

  • Given that the ice creams were made in a Pacojet the slightly too thick consistency of the vanilla ice cream was surprising (perhaps 13/20 overall)

  • Much better was dark chocolate crunch with walnut and praline

  • Here the chocolate glaze was rich and dark

  • Coffee came with biscuit petit fours

  • Overall this was a rather erratic meal

  • One where the best dishes were very good indeed

  • Tartufo Restaurant is locatd in the Knightsbridge area and it offers Italian

  • The closest tube station is Sloan Square

  • The surroundings around the venue are the luxurious and posh Cadogan Gardens

  • The atmosphere in the venue is more than aristocratic with a lot of art books and vintage paintings from Belgium Painter

  • The menu offers set menues with two three and four courses with overall prices between 25 40 pounds per person dependings the course

  • The barman is very kind and creative

  • Tell him what you like and he will prepare the perfect cocktails ad apted to your taste with his personal touch

  • I had a classic Cosmopolitan which was delicious and my friend had a special ' Old fashioned'

  • 11 Cadogan Gardens was built by Lord Chelsea in the late 19th Century

  • The building is magnificent with historically grandeur

  • Having read various reviews we knew that we were in store for a treat

  • The menu choices at lunch included a set lunch menu with wine or a tasting menu

  • We wanted to try some dishes from the tasting coupled with some from the set lunch which was no problem at all

  • As we decided an amuse of goats choose and tomato tartlets were delivered to the table

  • The fresh tomato was the star outshining the goats cheese for once
