The Seashell of Lisson Grove (Marylebone)

• The Sea Shell is an institution and after its revamp a few years ago it's done more than keep its head above the water
• The food at the Seashell is pretty good and they wisely offer more than just battered cod
• If you are looking to eat anything fishy alongside a crisp white wine and live in the area then it is well worth a visit
• Fish and chip shops in London are a mixed bag the inner city isn't normally as conducive as the seaside to this particular style of food
• The one place that is worthy of sitting alongside its countryside compatriots is the Sea Shell of Lisson Grove
• It has both a more formal sit down restaurant and a takeaway station with a few bar stools to perch on I'd strongly recommend both
• Definitely the best place of its kind in London Sea Shell trumps its rivals
• Note that the fish'n'chip meal is coley and the cod/haddock/etc are not sold as a meal

• Prawn cocktail was not that delicious but good
