  • Discovered this little place by accident as it hides down a quiet side street off The Holloway road with minimal passing traffic

  • Chicken is baked is bags before grilling resulting in moist bird

  • Sides are excellent and although not a natural salad person I have to say that here the amass are delightful

  • A big big thanks to Zomato again for hooking me up with a 3 course meal voucher for this restaurant just minutes from upper holloway and Archway stations

  • I honestly went in with no hopes or expectations

  • Let me start with decor of the place It has a neat

  • Some framed images of the food served in the restaurant hang on the wall and Mens room is called "

  • It had about 6 7 different dips and each of them was masterfully crafted hummus

  • Zalouk these dips complemented perfectly with the delightful chicken

  • I was absolutely full by the time the starter plates were off the table

  • So we ordered a half chicken Chicks on fire (which is literally set on fire by the chef when he brings it to your table) It is the hottest of the 4 varieties available

  • The dessert we had 3 different types of really delightful cakes presented with fresh strawberries and cream

  • First of all I would have to say that this restaurant's logo is damn funny

  • As location of this restaurant is away from both my workplace and residence

  • This restaurant is about 10 min walk from nearest tube station

  • This restaurant was one of the venues for dinner hosted by Zomato for 'proud connoisseurs' who had won ipad mini

  • We were served a wide variety of dips with bread for the starters which tasted quite good

  • We were also served chicken wings and chicken spring rolls which I assume were good as it went away quite fast

  • We had roasted chicken with corn on the cob and chips

  • Dinner concluded with cakes of three different flavours of which I found the pistachio cake quite delicious

  • Restaurant staffs were quite hospitable and were asking our feedbacks throughout the dinner

  • Our hosts from Zomato were all very good and friendly

  • Starters the restaurant is definitely not very conveniently situated

  • The ambiance is not that great either

  • The seating space is less (but that may be because the owners don't expect a huge crowd to arrive)

  • You will just be welcomed by wooden seating which are large planks of wood

  • I was taken aback by the variety of dips Chicks On Fire (Holloway) offered with the starters and all of them were worth giving a shot

  • What amazed me was the size of the platter served for the main course

  • Tried their grilled chicken which was average for me as it wasn't spicy enough for me

  • Corn on cob was nice and juicy

  • Chicks on Fire was a great dining experience

  • It was quite difficult to find but when I did it was worth the search

  • It was really quite unique because you could taste that it was a mix of many different food cultures

  • This is probably one of the best restaurants within a mile radius

  • What really pleased me was to see the real effort made in terms of dish presentation

  • Finding a way to make servings of chiken legs or even hummus look sexy is no easy feat and i can assure it is done which a touch of genius

  • The large cray platters on which the food is served is a simple testimony to the thought put into "

  • The taste of the food was fairly pleasing

  • My favorite has to be the chicken which is clearly nicely marinated and cared for before being cooked

  • You definetly do get the sense that with Chiken being the place's specialty

  • A genuine effort is put into making it as perfect as it gets

  • I must admit the generosity in the portions is mind blowing

  • Most importantly of all though is that this kindness is genuine and does seem too artificial

  • Were ideal to share with friends or with a large group

  • Service was fast and both waiters attending us were very helpful in our choices

  • The chicken was good and very well complemented by the sauces

  • A great place to go with friends to share good food in a warm environment

  • The dessert platter was really yummy

  • Well decorated and the chef and waiter are extremely helpful and friendly

  • A group of 7 adults and 4 children the bill including alcohol was 140 which split between us was 40 each

  • Chicks on Fire (MOST unfortunate name) is outstanding

  • I had chicken with Thai green curry marinade which was magnificent Thai curry at its best

  • My companion had her's without a marinade' as she doesn't like spicy food the Thai curry was only very slightly spicy

  • We had 1/4 chicken each (there are numerous other dishes aside from chicken) two kinds of spring rolls

  • The spinach and feta particularly good and also best chips ever

  • ) salad to go with the chicken as well as garlic mayonnaise

  • The dessert was also beautifully presented two different kinds one a chocolate cake

  • The other I was not quire sure what it was also a kind of cake

  • The restaurant itself is most tastefully decorated and would stand up to the decor of some very expensive restaurants I have been to in the city

  • The service was helpful and friendly attentive

  • This restaurant is a goldmine in the midst of a sea of kebab shops

  • What we do have here is the simple concept of grilled chicken modified with various sauces and marinades (think gourmet Nando's)

  • After finishing my meal it was clear it was a winning formula

  • The starters were interesting enough (I've never had a smear of humous before) but the main event was the chicken I actually had a burger (which

  • Was more of a very generous sandwich) and a quarter piece and all were very tasty and very spicy there was no need for any additional sauces to top up the taste here

  • So not much to complain about really perhaps the bench seating was a little uncomfortable

  • I can't give an accurate indication of the price but I think it was all under a tenner per head which is great value in anyone's book

  • The food here is good and the staff is very courteous and polite

  • Chicks on fire is a cosy set up off Hercules street in Islington (closest tube st

  • Their triple cooked chips go well with their grilled chicken (quarter/ half or full options) and I loved the spice their home made harissa sauce adds to the fare

  • Their salted caramel chocolate cake slices were delicious and I would go back for those alone

  • The food was very reasonably priced and the quality was of a high standard

  • Had the family feast with fajita and jerk chicken (quite a spice kick

  • The chicken is incredible melt in your mouth

  • Staying in Holloway with my daughter who recently moved from Sydney Australia to London and found this little gem

  • The food is amazing and so cheap and the staff are really great as well as the wine
