We drank pretty much one of the cheapest bottle of wine which was also superb
-
The razor clams were a magnificent surprise
-
Served not on their shell but rather on a piece of thin dark bread pressed into the shape of a shell and covered with sliced on the bias sashimi clam meat wonderful
-
As were the grilled baby squid with chorizo light and perfectly cooked
-
The turbot and scallops with meat juices and artichokes were also a treat
-
This plate was a surprisingly delicate blend
-
We have been for the second time for another birthday celebration and as it was last time we went
-
The food and the service was impeccable
-
So our table was probably one of the worst ones in the room
-
I was just glad to have a table as even at Monday lunch time Chez Bruce was close to full
-
Chez Bruce is not just a destination restaurant
-
There are frequent trains from Victoria with a journey time of 11 minutes
-
One of the best priced Michelin lunches (£
-
A very reasonable price Sunday set lunch menu with an excellent food
-
The main course was amazing and the deserts were really good
-
We spent our first two nights in Wandsworth with friends and my birthday was a good excuse to go to Chez Bruce for a decadent Sunday lunch
-
They change their menu all the time so I was eagerly checking it every few days in anticipation
-
D have so it was not a quick process on the day
-
We arrived at noon and were seated at a table at the back of the restaurant
-
After being presented with the menu and much chatter about what to eat we all picked the same main course
-
We ordered food and a full bodied white to go with our fish starters
-
At some point before ordering we were given a little hors d&rsquo
-
This massively downplays it because it was the best cheesy biscuit I&rsquo
-
Buttery and strong with cheese but in a soothing way
-
It did exactly what it was meant to &ndash
-
When Mr S enquired about nuts in the bread and told them of his allergy they came over with a nut free bread basket just for him &
-
By this point we were laughing about how many &lsquo
-
This is the best (insert food here) I&rsquo
-
Chorizo blended with the freshness of the fish with ease
-
The normally drab cod was brought to life with an anchovy hollandaise
-
The meat itself was nothing like I&rsquo
-
We were dining with friends who work in wine so we left them to choose what would match
-
A cheese plate was ordered between the four of us &
-
Moments like this are why I am not a waif
-
What struck me is how knowledgable the cheese man was
-
M currently going through was satisfied by the blood orange sorbet
-
I had ordered it on the basis of it being light but it arrived with not one but three accompaniments
-
It was unapologetically typically French with no messing about with added extras
-
Stewed rhubarb with citrus notes
-
A chocolate pudding with praline parfait was drenched in shiny chocolate sauce like a present being wrapped
-
Even the homemade truffles that arrived with coffee were the best truffles I&rsquo
-
S fair to say that I thought Chez Bruce was incredible &ndash
-
The staff were having their nightly meeting and the door was locked so my colleague and I were forced to wait in the cold and rain until their overrunning meeting had finished
-
When we were entered there was no apology
-
I was a bit surprised when my host said that he was vegetarian and the staff just pointed out the one starter and one main course which could be turned vege
-
On a positive note all courses were of a generous size
-
Not something you always get with Michelin Star dining
-
Food on the whole was very tasty check out my pics
-
I have to say I was particularly jealous of the Cheese Board
-
In booking we were told there was a strict 2hr turnaround on the table
-
To be fair we were there nearly 3 hours and no one was pressuring us to leave despite it being relatively full
-
Afterwards we popped next door to the Hope for a little digestif which was a great idea
-
Staff was really amazing and so was their service
-
Chez Bruce (Wandsworth Common) is simply amazing
-
I went here with my wife for our anniversary dinner and I was glad I made the right choice
-
I loved the ambience and the fact that staff was really attentive and polite
-
Starting with cocoa and chorizo soup with delicious garlic croutons
-
The set menu at the famous chez Bruce is one to be savoured
-
Service and food are all top of the line and at only £
-
Chez Bruce is a cute Michelin starred restaurant in Wandsworth
-
Is very definitely Team Trinity and I sense that he is not entirely comfortable on enemy ground
-
As Chez Bruce is on the site of the legendary Harvey&rsquo
-
I might now be represented by that Emoji icon we all have on our phones of the little old lady with a grey bun and
-
5.30 ish grind sandwiched between one hour commutes is a shock to the system
-
Service was the best memory of the night
-
Simply as there was yogurt and a very strong sauce with an otherwise fantastic spinach cheese pastry
-
Only ate at Chez Bruce because our original anniversary dinner choice (Thames river cruise) was cancelled at short notice
-
I decided to try CB and see if they could fit us in as they were only about 30 minute walk from our hotel
-
S cookbook so was very excited to try the restaurant and the food was really good
-
Rump and Comte was tremendous
-
My cousin also thought her mackerel rillettes were first class
-
I choose the grouse which was again superb
-
She was back on board with the dessert of white chocolate rum and raisin ice cream
-
I had the cheeseboard which was good but I have had better
-
Take plates which both my cousin and I were annoyed by
-
200 excluding wine was pretty good value
-
Once again the best meal I&rsquo
-
Course back then it was named &lsquo
-
29 ($37.46 US) for three courses on a Saturday lunchtime seemed like a brilliant deal plus the menu was actually varied and interesting stacked with attractive dishes
