Cafe Marlayne (Broughton)

• A fresh start to the day with a cup of latte and an amazing breakfast
• I have ordered egg Benedict with bacon as an add on
• Staff working is friendly and the coffee was also very good
• Cafe Marlayne is one of my favourite places which makes me reluctant to write this review
• Trying to explain what I love about it without gushing is going to be hard
• It is almost always busy with a bustling atmosphere but the service is always good too
• Or go super decadent with the banoffee pie
• As a committed tea drinker I would recommend experimenting with the large tea menu
• The window seat is probably the best place to sit
• It feels like you are in your own (tastefully decorated) home only with table service
• Asking if it came with two eggs (I was hungry)
• It still only came with one half of a bun
• Really impressed with the short time we waited for our food on a busy sunny Sunday
• The place was packed and we were pleased that we booked ahead
• We are on a mission to seek out all the best French restaurants that Edinburgh has to offer
• The restaurant is very quirky
• I ordered the sea bass with Indian spices and Ed went for a pork dish
• The waiter serving us was very mindful of both and got me my perfect fish just in time
• His pot dish was very tasty too
• Service was very good and so was the general ambience of the place
• We had no time for dessert but we are definitely coming back here again
• Marlayne (its sister is located on Thistle Street) and I was relieved to see the solid standard of bistro fare was not only up to scratch
• Welcome in what is quite a cavernous place
• Mix match furniture) are fairly symbolic of the menu&rsquo
• The menu has gone on a mini world tour and has arrived back with fresh ideas and flavours
