Café Rouge (Canary Wharf)

• Where I found Café Rouge (Canary Wharf) lacking was the coffee
• The famous French cafe's may have been the inspiration behind Cafe Rouge but if you compare it with Parisian cafes
• Café Rouge (Canary Wharf) is hardly a match
• What always stands out is the service
• Café Rouge (Canary Wharf) was almost dead
• I guess when the choice is so limited
• The least they could do is to keep it stocked up
• Ordered the Rouge steak and Chicken with mishroom and really enjoyed both dishes
• My office is nearby and I have lunch here every couple of months or so with colleagues
• The cheap minute steak was a bit tough
• Moules marinieres was overcooked and rubbery
• Bouillabaise (no longer on the menu) was served with rouille that didn't taste homemade
• The steaks that some of my colleagues were having looked pretty good
• On our way to Tower Bridge we found this palce in a hidden boardwalk in the docks along with other small restaurants and cafes
• My granola was left without yoghurt as they didn't have it in stock (despite being in the menu) but we found an aternative
• I had not noticed this cafe as it is somewhat tucked away along a part of Canary Wharf that I do not walk that often but glad that I have now discovered this location
• On this visit we were able to sit outside even though it was quite a windy day but it was nice to take advantage of what little sun was shining and thankfully there were no smokers around
• We enjoyed the special two course lunch option which for $12.95 I thought was quite good value
• My pate was quite a good size for a starter with two large pieces of fresh french bread and the mushrooms were soon devoured by my husband so Im guessing they were very tasty
• We had the minute steak with french fries and the chicken salad
• Our server was friendly although we did notice that the 'optional' tip was included on our final bill without being asked if we wanted it included
• The service is quite quick as well
• This is place is really good
• We went there on a week day morning and it had plenty of customers yet the service was fast and waitress was very friendly
• A perfect place to visit with your friends after office hours
• Opening their first store in 1989 with the aim to recreate real French food and wine for hungry Londoners
• I had a few pounds worth of vouchers so I was looking forward to some French food
