Mediterraneo (Merchant City)

• As you enter the restaurant it is configured as a long hall with booths against the windows and tables on the opposing wall
• As I sat at my table I noted that the coverings on the booth seats were showing signs of a long life
• The atmosphere is mid range maintenance food as opposed to classic Mediterranean restaurant
• The service was exuberant if somewhat disorganized
• Immediately after being seated I was asked 4 times by 3 or 4 different people what I wanted to drink
• The standard soup is minestrone (of course it is would you expect anything different
• ) and the soup of the day was clear broth vegetable
• I would have preferred a little more differentiation in the choice but the veggie soup was nicely done with the right level of saltiness and right amount of vegetables
• The pasta and sauce were nice and the portion of veal was generous
• Mediterraneo is a reasonable value
• I left satisfied with my experience but I'll keep searching for another that's more memorable
• S Scottish Italian Awards I was happy to give them a try
• When we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was quick
• Each dish we ordered was tasty and the cocktail menu is great
• Really loved their pizza with chicken and onion topping
