Khublai Khan (Merchant City)

• At 6.95 for two courses I was happy to overlook this
• The service was admirable with the waiter asking me for my feedback after each course
• I was disappointed to find that when I nipped into the restaurant to go the bathroom there was a full Mongolian barbecue on offer which the waiter had forgotten to tell me about
• All in all my experience was pretty average but I think had I had the barbecue it might have been a whole lot better
• Had heard about the exotic food that was on offer here and so went there for an evening and ordered the pre theatre course
• Once you reach the back to pick up the stir fry which you are to make yourself
• It gets a whole lot complicated true the meats are on one side and so are the accompanying sauces and spices but the options are too many and with no one to help things go crazy
• Also as not everyone is a chef it would be great if the staff was at hand to ensure there was some semblance of order
• The chef making the stir fry seemed a little disinterested in the whole affair in a hurry to finish up with so many orders on hand
• I was left a little disappointed with the meat slightly undercooked as there is no way to tell the chef how you want your meat done
• It's pretty standard with not a big selection to boast about
