Mary's Milk Bar (Old Town)

• The best thing here is the hot chocolate
• Make sure you stop off here if you are in the city
• Mary's Milk Bar serves up the best ice cream in Old Town
• Some of the best in Edinburgh
• When I last visited on a sunny day during the Fringe it was perfect to take our ice creams outside and sit in the Grassmarket with views of the Castle
• While not the most adventurous of choices it was absolutely delicious
• The milkshake was extremely dense and the flavour
• The lady in front of me opted for a hot chocolate which came with a massive scoop of rose flavoured gelato and looked and smellled absolutely delicious
• Mary herself is usually behind the counter with a smile
• Pictured is the white hot chocolate with cardamom served with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream
• My one criticism is that I think sometimes the flavours are just too subtle
• When it comes to ice cream and milkshake Mary's Milk Bar is the place to be
• The selection of ice creams is very interesting

• Mary's Milk Bar makes ice cream suitable for all types of weather with their hot chocolate floats
• Very friendly and the interior is lovely inside
• It's fantastic to know that no matter the weather there is somewhere we can get our ice cream fix
• I love Mary's Milk Bar you can tell their gelato is made with high quality ingredients
• Black pepper sorbet are a few delicious flavours I've sampled

• Short wait later and we were rewarded with creamy delicious cones and tubs as good as any gelato I sampled in Italy

• ) I only had ice cream from Mary's but it is probably one of the best ice creams I've had in Edinburgh
• I'm not being over rated about Mary's but this is the best sweet tooth addiction I have ever been to

• I forgot to take a picture of the ice cream which is very stupid but the interior is well done
• Mary herself makes fresh flavours every day that are often bizarre and unique yet infinitely better than you could ever imagine
• My favourite flavour so far is peaches and cream but everything else has also been delightful
• Because the texture of the ice cream in general is much more enjoyable
• Salted caramel flavor is heavenly and the staff is great
