Maki & Ramen Sushi Bar (Old Town)

• My first impression of the small space was how it felt cozy and casual
• The self serving sushi and beverage bar/table was quite intriguing
• The menu is printed on a small paddle chopping board which was a nice little detail I liked also
• I found that double is a full portion and single is half a portion so if you were to have sushi or starters with your meal
• It was part of a sushi set with edamame beans and cost twice as much as the basic sushi
• The noodle was accompanied by a good serving of beansprouts and greens
• The charsui were definitely too fatty and noodles didn't have the chewiness I expect from ramen
• The food is really tasty and the sushi freshly made with lots of care
• Plus the staff are really friendly
• The menu is a little paddle board with 3 ramens and 2 noodle dishes
• 3.80 which are great if you want to order some sushi or teriyaki to go with it

• They also do rice in broth and the meat options are char Sui belly pork
• I had the hell ramen rich tasty broth with a good level of spice and a dragon roll which was awesome
• My friend Gyoza dumplings were really tasty too
• This tiny japanese restaurant near Nicholson Street is such an amazing find
• Their ramens are yummy but their sushi is even better
• With complimentary hot green tea I almost felt like i was back in Tokyo
• I went for dinner with Urban Traveller and i had ramen for the first time
• The curry One with soy marinated egg and then we shared the red dragon sushi plate
• I'll definitely go back only down is that being very Small is perfect for Two but not large groups even if they have a couple of tables downstairs

• I had the beef curry ramen with boiled egg
• The interior was nice and it looked promising
• The service was slow and not great at all
• The food itself was ok sushi was good (went with the salmon set and dragon roll set)
• The decor and service was great but the ramen could definitely score higher marks
• The broth flavour and noodle quality are in question but the rest of the ingredients are well prepared
• S probably the best ramen you will find in the area
• The rest of the menu is also fairly good however nothing really stood out
• I am huge Asian foodie as so is my husband
• The restaurant is quaint and cosy and make a you feel as if you could be eating in down town China town in a rainy New York
• The sushi is some of the best and freshest I have ever tried
• Everything was perfect about it
• The endemame beans were just right too
• My favourite was the accompanying seaweed salad
• Besides that it was really delicious
• The noodles were cooked perfectly
• The pork was succulent and the broth was heart warming
• I wanted to go to was closed for refurbishment
• There are three locations in Edinburgh Nicolson Street and Fountainbridge are the only ones with the omakase bar
• I particularly found the one in Old Town as the best for sushi and Maki &
• Ramen in Morningside is best for ramen
• We both had the fried noodles which were really good
